Mission Possible by Jame D.

(Jeremiah 29:4-14)

God has put us in this community for a reason. He believes that we will be most useful in this neighbourhood that we are in. Let’s take on the Mission that God has given us and let’s take it to heart to be of impact where we are. It may seem like an impossible task but with God’s guidance this Mission is certainly Possible!

I. Let’s Settle Down

5  “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.

II. Let’s Spread Out

6  Marry and have sons and daughters…increase in number there; do not decrease.

III. Let’s Seek Peace

7  Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to

the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

IV. Let’s Stand Firm

8 “Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you.

V. Let’s Stay Strong

11  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Mission to Accomplish: Learning How to Trust God

(Jeremiah 33:1-3)

As we close our sermon series on, “God is on Mission with Us”, we see our protagonist Jeremiah in a chaotic and confusing circumstance. What seems to be a great calling is being limited by his confinement in the courtyard. In the midst of stressful situation, God wants us to remember Him. Let us learn how to fully trust God as we fulfill the mission He has for us.

I. Remember God is Always in Control

Verse: 33 While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him a second time

II. Remember God is All Caring

Verse: 2 “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name:

III. Remember God is a Call Away

Verse: 3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
